2011 Barossa Ranges Tom Quilty Gold Cup Endurance Ride

Starts midnight Friday 30th September 2011

The Tom Quilty is the National Championship ride that rotates around Australia.

In 2011, it is our turn and we are very excited to be hosting this prestigious endurance event in September. The ride base will be at Mt Pleasant which hosts annually a large agricultural show in addition to many livestock and horse events.  The new course will provide a challenging event for participants.  There will be an away check point and riders will experience changing terrain as the course traverses Mt Crawford State forest, vineyards and pastures. 

We are inviting you to experience endurance riding at its best and be part of the volunteering team.

Riders from SA, Interstate and Overseas will be coming to South Australia to compete, so, as you can imagine, there is a lot of work required running up to and on the day, so we need a huge number of volunteers to help make this prestigious event a success These tasks include time keeping, vet pencilling, parking attendants, data entry, runners and more.  

If you want to be a part of this and are interested in helping in any way, or you know others that could be interested, then please contact Jenny Austin to have your name placed on the 2011 Tom Quilty Volunteers Register.  Please also ask any friends and family (don’t need to be horse people) if they can spare any time to help.  There will be a roster system for each task, working in 5 hour shifts and you will be very well looked after.  Register your interest for now and you will receive a newsletter then we will be in touch later to finalise the roster.
