Please make sure you try and nominate for each ride.  To nominate on line go to Nominate.com and complete the form.  If not, you can ring the Ride Organiser noted on the Flyer and you will see the final date for nomination on the Flyer for that ride.  A late entry fee of $10 will be added to all entries on the day where the pre-ride nomination has not been received by the due date.  Don't forget to do your 3 day temperature log and bring it with you to the ride.

Course:

Marrabel is a small town in the Gilbert Valley surrounded by an abundance of dry weather tracks, rolling hills and undulating farm land. The rodeo grounds provide an exceptional venue with plenty of space for camping.


The 10 and 20 km rides traverse dirt roads with some undulation.


The 40 km ride will be the first leg of the 80km ride.


The 80 km ride comprises 2 legs. Leg 1 (40 km) works east along gravel roads before picking up dry weather only clay roads. Then merging into farm tracks as the ride crosses over the Tothill Range, heads north and back west over the range. Return to base is on mostly dry weather only roads.


The second leg is made up of mostly dry weather only roads with a couple sections of harder road. This leg will cross the Light Range and is otherwise low to moderately undulating.


Venue: Marrabel Rodeo Grounds. Marrabel Road, Marrabel. 59km North of Gawler. Rodeo grounds entry is approximately 0.3km north of the town.


Catering: Catering will be available for dinner Friday night and Breakfast and lunch on Saturday.


Water: There will be ample water on site


Manure: Manure and hay needs to be removed. Please bring adequate bags.


Services: Kapunda is the last town you are likely to travel through with any services prior to Marrabel. There is no fuel or shops in Marrabel but there is a pub.

Forestry fees are applicable for those without SA Forestry permits. This is $5/p for the intermediate and endurance events.

The weekend will be focussed on trailing the proposed TQ17 course.


Course:

The social event will cover the proposed leg 4 of the Quilty. This traverses along Yankalilla River and meets the beach. There will be 2 safe water crossings and a short stretch along Normanville beach.


The intermediate event is the proposed leg 3 of the Quilty. Riding across undulating paddocks, reaching the Second Valley forest and returning down the iconic hill with views across the ocean.


The endurance ride will start with the proposed leg 1 of the Quilty, travelling along safe night riding tracks in the forest. The second leg will be as the intermediate ride.


Venue: Located at Wirrina Cove Holiday Park, Paradise Drive, Wirrina Cove. Signs will direct from Main South Road, Normanville.


Catering: Kiosk on site offering an array of delicious food and coffee.

Course consists of dirt roads, private paddock and woodlands. Come and try your hand in a friendly, encouraging atmosphere, where we cater for all levels of horse and rider fitness. Drinking water for horses provided, please BYO chaff bag for manure. A 3 day Temperature log must be presented upon entry, horses without one will not be accepted. The Jendari Cup is an award presented to the leading competitor over the following five rides during the season.  The rides are chosen at the beginning of the season by Darren Leaver of Jendari Arabians and the SAERA State Management Committee.  All weight divisions are included.  Make a note of these rides and include them in your season's programme.

How To Get There

STARKEYS Click here for map

Starkeys is along the Williamstown (Cricks Mill) Road from Mount Pleasant to Williamstown.  Turn right along Williamstown Road as you leave Mount Pleasant and approx. 5 km along this road you will see Ride signs at Starkey Road on your right (on your left if you come from the Williamstown end). 

MONARTO SPORTING COMPLEX

If you are coming from Murray Bridge take the Princes Highway, go past the Zoo entrance and then take Schenscher Road which is on your right.  The Monarto Sporting Complex is along Schenscher Road on the right (approx. 15 kms).

If you are coming along the Mannum to Murray Bridge road, turn right down Wagenknecht Road.  At the end of the road turn right, over the railway and then immediately left down Pallamana Road.  Follow that road to the 5 ways junction and take Schenscher Road (second exit left), the Sporting Complex is on the left just past Hartman Road (on your right).
