PRE-RIDE NOMINATIONS

 PRE-RIDE NOMINATIONS

Please make sure that you nominate for all Endurance and Training and Introductory rides (this means any ride).

Nominations should be made to the person(s) named on the Ride Calendar using the phone number or fax details provided (email may be used but is suggested that use the reply receipt facility with your email and if you do not receive a receipt you will have to  telephone to make sure your entry has been received.  This is your responsibility so it is suggested your email is sent in plenty of time.)   Nominations MUST be received by 8pm on the Monday preceding the ride.

A late entry fee of $10 will be added to all entries on the day where the pre-ride nomination has not been received prior to 8pm on the preceding Monday

At Truro Oval

 

(40 mins from Gawler on the Sturt H’way – as you enter Truro from Gawler follow signs to the Oval)

Toilets and showers available

Truro offers service stations; a great bakery; Truro Agencies (agricultural supplies) and a Hotel

 

The format for the Truro Easter Bunny Mini Marathon is a combination ride where riders can nominate on Friday to ride 40km on all three days and there will be a best managed horse award.  Riders may nominate each day separately and can combine any distances but will not be eligible for the special draw. (Click on the link at the bottom of this flyer for a copy of Mini Marathon Rules). There will be the usual 80km endurance ride on Saturday and on all days 40km, and 20km rides are also offered.  We hope to offer a short ride of less than 10km on Sunday so if you are interested please make sure you ring and ask about it.  Young riders may be led.

80km Endurance ride starts 6am

Short Fun ride will start at 9.30 am if it goes ahead

 

Truro Cricket Club will be catering on Saturday night and Sunday morning, if possible please let us know when you nominate if you wish to eat on Saturday night

 

A basket of goodies will be raffled and tickets will be available here and at the Meldana ride and from Committee members (see Committee list on website).  The draw will be here at Truro.

7am: Entry

8:30am – 9:30am: Introductory Endurance Information Session

For those interested in introductory information on riding, strapping and vetting in the sport of Endurance Riding; a sport that would be suitable for a rider of any age or experience.

 

10:30am: 40 km Training Ride

Minimum ride time of 3 hours applies. Children under 10 years of age must be supervised by an adult rider at all times. Cost $40.00 members and $55 non members.

11:30 am: 20 km Introductory Ride

Minimum ride time of 2 hours applies. Children under 10 years of age must be supervised by an adult rider at all times. Cost $20 members and $35 non members

Course:   Private land, roads, forestry trails, some great hills and wet creek crossings!!

All rides: horses must be vetted at least 30 minutes prior to ride start (So plan to be there by 9.00am at the latest for the trainer and 10am for the Introductory Ride) and after each ride. Ride course talk will be held 15 minutes before start (saddled or not)

Presentations will follow final horse’s completion with prizes awarded for the most beautifully masked horse and rider.

Sausage Sizzle n Soft Drinks will be available

Starkeys is along the Williamstown (Cricks Mill) Road from Mount Pleasant to Williamstown.  Turn right along Williamstown Road as you leave Mount Pleasant and approx. 5 km along this road you will see Ride signs at Starkey Road on your right (on your left if you come from the Williamstown end).

Truro Base

Truro is approx. half an hour from Gawler.  As you enter Truro from the Gawler Road you will see signs for the Ride taking you left and immediately right, then left up Railway Terrace and the Oval is on your left.  If you come along the Blanchetown Road you can turn right as soon as you get to Truro, just before the Church, and then take the second left down Railway Terrace, the Oval will be on your right.

If you are coming from Murray Bridge take the Princes Highway, go past the Zoo entrance and then take Schenscher Road which is on your right.  The Monarto Sporting Complex is along Schenscher Road on the right (approx. 15 kms).

If you are coming along the Mannum to Murray Bridge road, turn right down Wagenknecht Road.  At the end of the road turn right, over the railway and then immediately left down Pallamana Road.  Follow that road to the 5 ways junction and take Schenscher Road (second exit left), the Sporting Complex is on the left just past Hartman Road (on your right).
